SWMF runs a weekly after-school filmmaking session at the Loreburn Hall, Dumfries DG1 1LN, on Monday evenings (4.30-6.30 pm) for 14–19-year-olds. We have a professional camera (a Panasonic AG UX 180), with microphones, lighting, a green screen, Osmo handheld cameras, and an Edit Suite with Final Cut Pro.

Our young people have been learning about directing, performance, set design and costume as well as camera skills, lighting, and editing. We support them to look at films with a critical eye as well as developing and writing their own scripts.

DGTV has its own YouTube channel and Instagram account

Productions have included a mockumentary about recycling called ‘Binvasion’ which was screened at the 2025 Colorado Environmental Film Festival in the US, and ‘Black Ice’, which was short-listed for the IntoFilm National Awards 2025.
